Veterans' Day Thank You Card Workshop Hills Bank in Marion (800 11th St) Wednesday, October 17, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Join us for a two-hour workshop creating and decorating thank you cards for local veterans. All of the cards will be sent to the Marion American Legion Post 298 to be distributed. Bring your creative ideas and we will provide basic card-making supplies. If you have any favorite card making tools or supplies you would like to share, please bring them too. Seating is limited. Wine Tasting with Old Man’s Creek Winery Goodwin Senior Dining (223 8th Ave, Wellman) Wednesday, October 17, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Tom and Vicki Capper, owners of Old Man’s Creek Winery, will conduct a wine tasting presentation. Learn about this family-owned winery located in Parnell, IA, and taste the unique flavors distinct in each wine’s composition. Light hors d’oeuvres will complement the various styles of wine. Belgian Beer Pairing Hills Bank in Iowa City (1401 S Gilbert St) Thursday, October 18, 6:00 p.m.
We will be focusing on Belgian beers this year with a tasting led by manager Doug Alberhasky from John's Grocery in Iowa City. Doug has been an employee of John’s Grocery since his grandfather opened the store 60 years ago and possesses a vast knowledge of beer styles and the history of John’s Grocery.
