BEARING CHRIST’S CROSS How much would you have given for the privilege of helping a weary Christ bear his Cross? Today thousands of weary Jewish Christians bear the cross of shame and suffering. Will you not lend a helping hand as Simon of Cerene did? A Jewish Christian writes:—-“With many thanks I acknowledged a food parcel. Every article of the food is like bread from Heaven.” Our Society ministers to needy Jews and Jewish Christians in many lands. If God leads you to help needy Jewish Christians, mail your gift to the: Interdenominational Jewish Missionary Society of North America, Inc, North Side Branch, P. O. THE BIBLE INSTITUTE AND REVIVAL (Continued from Page 28) >

Bible merely to work out doctrine or practice and such things, but rather that through it, we may find our way into the very inner sanctuary of God. Thus, with minds and hearts so in toxicated with the sense of His pres ence the world may think us as drunk as the apostles of Pentecost and for the same reason and perhaps with the same results. The third thing is that we must express this power in action. This Bible Institute has always placed a tremendous emphasis on practical Christian service. No student can graduate without fulfilling require ments in this sphere. But it must not be done merely to keep off the Dean’s carpet, or because of a sense of moral obligation. It will only open the flood- tides of Heaven when Christian work is done because our hearts are so full that we cannot do anything else. The world needs enthusiasm of this nature. If we go out with a flame in our hearts and a burden on our minds, unsaved people will begin to take notice. This heightened sensitivity to the needs of the lost should permeate our classroom studies, our conversation in the streets, our sermons from the pulpit, our lessons in the Sunday school, our relations at work, and our doings at home. When God sees by this practical expression that we mean business, He will do the rest. But until we ourselves go forward, we shall implore Him in vain. These words are being written from an office in the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, but I have in mind all the time that the readers will not only be the vast student body but the mis sionaries in foreign lands, ministers in the churches, and countless others in the various walks of life. Kemem- ber that wherever you are and what ever you are doing, God is including you in this ehallenge to the Bible Institute. We implore God that He send a revival. Let us offer Him with humble but fervent and bleeding hearts our Institute as the channel through which He may bring this tremendous spiritual awakening to the world. It is increasingly upon my heart that God has raised up Biola for such a time as this. Does our spirit ual power match the implications of this tremendous challenge? A P R I L , 1951
