Today, S.I. Container Builds services projects nationally, transporting units efficiently through standard shipping dimensions that avoid many oversized-load complications.
Yet despite the company’s growth, Rubin says most of her work still revolves around changing perceptions.
“The hardest part of my job,” she admits, “is that I spend about 85% of my time around education.” For many people, container construction still triggers outdated assumptions — rusted boxes, cramped interiors, temporary aesthetics, or unsafe structures.
Rubin spends much of her time dismantling those narratives.
“We take a steel frame that is no longer going to be used,” she explains. “It’s only crossed the ocean one time, so it’s practically brand new. We build it to building code. We’re licensed and certified. We follow ICC codes.”
