Abbott Label The founder of Dallas, Texas-based Abbott Label, Jerome Thomas Abbott, passed away at home on Au- gust 17 following an extended illness. He was 79. Abbot purchased Metro Label Corporation in 1979, which is today the family-owned business Abbott Label. Abbott sold Metro Label Corporation in 1998 to an investment banking firm.
