This is how you grow and develop! Who do you feel was most influential in your lifewhen choosing this profession? My grad school professor who also happens to be a real estate investor. He has been the one that has persuaded me to transition from the cor- porate consulting world into commercial real estate. What inspiring word of
advice would you give to a young executive graduat- ing from college today? Your career choice should be something you are really pas- sionate about. Many kids in college tend to choose a career that will pay well as soon as they graduate and what ends up happening is, they quit their jobs within a year or two and need to start over as they end up being miserable! You really have to do what you love to do and if it does bring you good money, that’s great. If not, save up and find a real estate investment to create a second source! MAREJ

industry? Through my business acumen from my years at Ernst & Young, as well as through my small business ownerships. I bring a vast business knowl- edge to the table, along with real entrepreneurial experi- ences, which allow me to con- nect with my retail clients on a totally different level than a typical real estate professional. What impact has social media/networking had on your career? Social media has created a unique twist not only on our personal lives, but also on a professional level. Thus, it is imperative we learn how to use it to our personal and professional advantage. While social media is still not wildly utilized in commercial real es- tate, it is becoming a popular tool which you cannot dismiss if you would like to be ahead of the game. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current posi- tion and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? I started my career out of college in public accounting. As a Polish immigrant, I needed to learn the American way of business, and being an auditor at one of the big 4 accounting firms not only exposes you to all aspects of running a business, but it also teaches you a great business acumen. However, coming from a very entrepreneurial family, I knew the corporate world was not my ultimate goal. I have always had this “fire in a belly” that I needed to satisfy, and I quickly discovered the only way to do it was through building “things.” So, I first started building small businesses and along the way I discovered that I also en- joy building spaces and build- ings, which is how I ended up in commercial real estate. Real estate was that “thing” that connected the dots for me and allowed me to do everything I love to do daily! What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? I am strong, determined, persistent and passionate about what I do. Many have described me in the past as
“such a bulldog.” What challenges and or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to be- come as successful as you are today? I see each obstacle as an op- portunity to learn something
new and to succeed. Therefore, I always look forward to these obstacles to be thrown in my path so I can overcome them. What was the most defin - ing moment for you? Meeting my current mentor (Alessandro Conte, Executive
