Now the same may be true for anyone who smoked a bit of marijuana or sampled some other drug before getting behind the wheel of a car or truck. The OPP and several other police forces across Canada are taking part in a pilot project to test the effectiveness and
police departments in Gatineau, Toronto, Vancouver, and Halifax, and the RCMP detachments in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, and in Yellowknife in the NorthWest Territory, are taking part in the project.

One of the conditions of the pilot project is that no test results from the volunteers will used in court as evidence for any charges. The samples are just to help determine which of the two devices works best and also help set Canadian legal guidelines and standards for future roadside screening devices used for drug-testing of impaired drivers.

En 2017, Russell Foodland ouvrira son nouvel emplacement au 148, rue Craig. Le nouveau magasin sera considérablement plus grand avec de nouveaux départements et une variété de produits alimentaires élargie comme une nouvelle section de santé et bien- être et un bar de sushi. Pour soutenir sa croissance, plus de 100 nouveaux emplois seront créés dans la communauté, avec des postes disponibles dans tous les secteurs du magasin. Foodland L ocated at 124 Craig Street in Russell, Foodland is the main grocery store within the village of Russell. The grocery store has a small town charm with hard to beat deals. It’s a neighbourhood store that focuses on community and customers while offering a wide variety of conventional products with friendly customer service. The weekly flyer is sent out in the ad bags across Russell Township and surrounding area. The flyer is also available online before each Thursday to allow clients to be ahead of the game and see the best deals in advance. The store offers fresh seasonal local products. In the summer they have local corn and in the fall they have local apples. They also have a wide variety of flowers for any occasion and make gift baskets with products from the store on demand. Owner of the Russell Foodland and soon-to-be mother, Karine Boucher, ensures that each client gets only the best customer service. It might be a small store, but they are big on service! They are also committed to enhancing the well being of the community and participate in many local events and fundraisers. The annual sample fest and food drive is one of many events that Foodland organizes. This event is held each year in December and customers can donate a non-perishable food item and sample festive favourites from the store. In collaboration with the Russell Firefighters, this event fills up a fire truck of food donations every year. Foodland also organizes other fun events like the annual gingerbread house decorating party and many more.
