This decision comes in the face of schools returning to remote learning until at least January 17, barring any extensions.

Following the return to a modified Stage 2, both Russell Township and The Nation Municipality have closed all recreational facilities. As of January 5, Russell Township has closed town hall and its satellite offices until further notice. Appointments can still be made for in-person services, and staff are available by phone and email. Any fees can be paid online, through the bank, or by outdoor dropbox at the Town Hall at 717 /PUSF%BNF4USFFU &NCSVO Indoor recreation facilities including the sports dome, arenas, and community centres, are closed to the public until further notice. Registration for recreational programs will open as usual at the end of January, and participants will be contacted by email about any changes to their program. The recreational trail and dog park remain open, but the Township asks visitors to continue SFTQFDUJOHBMMBQQMJDBCMF$07*%IFBMUI measures.
