SEAN BLUNDEN REJOINT L’ÉQUIPE D’ENTRAÎNEURS DU NATIONAL

et des Marlboros de Toronto, où il a remporté deux des trois tournois. Sean a été nommé « Entraîneur de l’année du niveau U18 » à deux reprises en 2018-2019 et en 2021-2022. À titre de joueur, Sean a joué 5 années dans la CCHL. Il a passé la grande majorité de sa carrière avec les Blues d’Orléans et les Rangers de Gloucester, mais c’est avec les Colts de Cornwall qu’il a terminé son séjour dans la CCHL. Pendant sa carrière de 19 ans, il a cumulé une fiche de 54 points en 55 matchs avec 18 buts et 36 mentions d’aide. Il a également été repê- ché par l’Attack d’Owen Sound dans l’OHL. Sean a continué son parcours de hockey en jouant quatre ans au niveau U-Sport avec les Stingers de l’Université Concordia tout en obtenant son baccalauréat en arts dans le domaine des relations humaines. Sean Blunden est impatient de se joindre à l’équipe pour la prochaine saison : « Je suis excité de commencer à travailler avec le National de Rockland et d’appuyer une équipe de coachs, déjà bien chevronnée, à remporter le championnat. Le National de Rockland annonce que Sean Blunden se joindra à l’équipe d’entraîneurs pour la saison 2022-2023. Le directeur général des Nationals Charles Lavigne était très heureux d’annon- cer l’embauche de l’entraîneur vétéran pour la prochaine campagne : « Nous sommes enchantés que Sean se joigne à nous. Au cours des 5 dernières années, il a accompli beaucoup comme jeune entraîneur-chef. Avec son bagage impressionnant de défen- seur et ses expériences à titre d’entraîneur, Sean est un candidat de choix pour le poste d’assistant entraîneur » Au cours des 3 dernières années, Sean a été l’entraîneur-chef du programme U18 des Grads de Navan. Avant cela, pendant deux ans, il a occupé les postes d’entraî- neur-associé et d’entraîneur-chef pour les Hawks de Hawkesbury au niveau U18. Il a également été entraîneur pour l’équipe étoile du HEO Minor Midget lors des tournois des « Peterborough Petes », de la coupe Clarkson

One of the highlights for Canada Day this year in Alfred-Plantagenet Township is the return of the popular Kayak & Canoe Race. “Everybody was happy,” said Dominic Côté, one of the organizers of the event. The Alfred-Plantagenet Fire Department Kayak & Canoe Race was a welcome addition to Canada Day events when the fire depart- ment launched the project several years ago. The pandemic put the event into dry dock for the past two years. The relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions on social gatherings has allowed the event to cast off again. Last Friday morning on Canada Day 40
Average time for the journey was about an hour and a half, but Côté noted that a few of more expert paddlers made the trip in less than an hour. This year’s event featured both professio- nal and recreation dividions for participants. Some entrants from Québec travelled down from the Gatineau region to take part or came up from the Vaudreuil area. «It was a good success,» said Côté, who also took part in the race. «I twas good weather. Everybody had fun.»
