Please welcome our new contributing writers from Cheatham County High School! English Teacher, Rick Amburgey invited Let’s Talk Trash-News! to speak to each of his 6 English classes for an opportunity for students to become contributing writers. To our surprise, the response has been overwhelming! Presented here are the 12 students from grades 9 through 12 who recognize this opportunity when they saw it! Let’s Talk Trash-News! is proud and excited to include KIDS writing for KIDS!

Destinee is our CONVINCER - Destinee is in the 9th grade at CCCHS and loves to write. Her favorite part about writing is getting to share her opinion while encouraging others to do the same.

Kara is our DREAMER - Born in Nashville on March 2, 2000, Kara is an 11th grader and loves to write stories, read, listen to music and loves all things fantasy and horses. “I would love to teach younger kids things that interested me at the age.” Kara will be sharing what she has learned about the origin of the Unicorn fantasy based upon a real life unicorn.

Bobby is our CONNECTOR - Bobby is in the 12th grade and believes everybody connects with something. “If you can find common ground to connect with kids, you can have a significant impact on whether they decide to make good or bad decisions for their communities.”

Dawson is our GAMER - Dawson is in the 9th grade and loves to write stories, build DIY stuff and talk about what he makes. Dawson will be helping to create puzzles and games. Stay tune to some really great stuff from Dawson!

Becca is our GIVER - A 9th grader, Becca has a great desire to give back and she loves to write. Her first article is “What’s it like to be a 3rd grader.” Having a younger sister, this was the perfect interview for Becca to present as her first contribution in this issue.

Korey is our SPORTS ENTHUSIAST - Korey is in the 12th grade and is originally form Moultrie, Georgia. He enjoys movies, TV and SPORTS, mainly football and basketball. He will be writing to inform us about his favorite NBA team, The Atlanta Hawks, as well as when the game of basketball originally began.

Kat is our STRIVER - 9th grader, Kat is on the road to a college path and is interested in pursuing a profession in the medical field. Let’s see what Kat comes up with in upcoming issues!

Nicole is our THINKER - Nicole is in the 11th grade and enjoys movies (horror), food, family, faith and friends. Nicole wants to share her voice with kids! She is interested in psychology and sometimes has strong opinions to share.

Kylie is our INVESTIGATOR - 9th grader, Kylie wants to be a writer because she loves to express herself and show a part of her no one sees. As an investigator, Kylie has submitted this month’s article, Dale Hollow. Find out about the Hidden City under a lake!

Ajani is our ENVIRONMENTALIST - Ajani is in the 11th grade and wants to be able to raise consciousness and awareness of the world around us. He wants a safer and cleaner place for our future generations. Look for Ajani’s article next issue.

Ashley is our RESEARCHER - 9th grader, Ashley is interested in research about medical issues and diseases or anything that can happen to our bodies. Medical issues are not all she is interested in as she also enjoys reading and writing on a host of subjects.

Jayden is our REPORTER - Jayden is in the 9th grade and originally from Rutherford County. Jayden likes to color her hair fun colors, listen to music, talk to kids and likes to read. Jadyen likes to talk to people to figure things out about them and then write about it.
