discussion, he takes the reader through the Bible with an insight that develops a sense of unity and harmony throughout the whole. Typi cal examples of the style may be seen in the quotations: “The sigh for the priest moans through Genesis” (p. 36) and “We began by saying that the Old Testament gives a revela tion of human need, and that in the New we have the revelation of the divine supply” (P. 408). It is sprin kled profusely with literary allusions and quotations. 416 pp. Fleming H. Revell Co., Westwood, N.J.; $5.50. Fortress of Faith The Story of Bob Jones University by M elton Wright Here is told the chronicle of one of America’s most unusual educa tional institutions. Through the im plementation of a vision forwarded by faith and a vigorous promotional program, Dr. Bob Jones, Sr., and his son Bob, Jr., have under God, devel oped a school whose plant is valued at $21,000,000 and whose student body runs around three thousand. Several unusual features character ize the curriculum. Among these are art and music courses without extra tuition and a strong dramatic arts emphasis, the operation of a radio station, and a strong program of evan gelism. A number of photographs add to the story. 300 pages; cloth; Wm. B. Eerdmans Pub. Co., Grand Rapids, $5.00. Evangelism in Depth As told by team members of the Latin America Mission Because of the unusual signifi cance of this new volume and the important assessments w h i c h are made of modem missionary activities, the editors of THE KING’S BUSI NESS, anticipate reprinting a portion of the book in a future issue. Great Personalities of the New Testament by William Sanford LaSor

This is a twin to the author’s Great Personalities of the Old Testa ment published a year or two ago. Both are in the popular vein, but are based solidly on broad scholar ship in all pertinent areas. They de velop the historical backgrounds in each case and seek to set the charac ter in his social and cultural situa tion. The messages were originally delivered as a series of Sunday morn ing lessons to a Sunday school class in the Los Angeles area. They have a directness of appeal and a stimu lating color of description. The read er will not always go along with all the implications of the interpretation, but he will find much to refresh and inspire him. 192 pages; cloth; Flem ing H. Revell Co., Westwood, N.J.; $3.00. Out of My Life by V. Raymond Edman One is tempted to look askance at another book by Dr. Edman because he has one every year, it seems. But upon opening this book, one is due for a pleasant surprise. Here are brought together forty-one intimate stories of the ‘now-it-can-be-told’ type. Spiritual experiences that are often locked in the heart of those who have them, or know about them, are not easily shared with others. Time, how ever, 6ften opens the way for shar ing, and Dr. Edman feels that these should be told. They involve miracles of healing and many kinds of special phenomena enjoyed by those who walk close to the Lord. The book should become a classic in the field of the genuinely mystical. 224 pages; cloth; Zondervan Publishing House, Grand Rapids; $3.50. The Unfolding Message of The Bible by G. Campbell Morgan Here is another volume from the fluent pen of England’s master of exposition, who, “ being dead, yet speaketh.” These informal chats about the sixty-six books of the Bible have been published from manuscript material he left and are now pre sented for the first time to the public. By the use of outlines, parallel column comparisons, and synoptic
