Your Vote Matters
Board of Directors
2
The ORPS election for the Board of Directors ’ va- cant positions is not far away. You should have received your ballot by now and if you have not voted yet, please do so soon. You can help shape the future of our Resort by not only voting for up to four candidates but by voting to uphold or overturn the new 26 - foot minimum rig length. The decision to keep or reject the new 26 - foot rule is an important decision impacting our Resort in the future. There are pros, cons, and support for both upholding and rejecting this rule. For years, many owners have been concerned that new rigs were getting shorter and shorter. Some feel the smaller 24 - foot trailers and vans look out of place and are aesthetically unpleasing. Some have no problem with how they look next to our larger rigs. The 24 - foot class B units are becoming more popular which means we will be seeing more and more of them within the Resort if the rule is overturned. If the rule is upheld, we will be turning away more renters and possible future owners. The bottom line is that we, as owners, have the opportunity to decide what we feel is the best for our Resort by voting. Please research and vote for candidates that will continue to move our Resort forward as one of the most desirable RV destinations in the country. Over the past 5 years, very important changes and improvements have been made that have reduced the number of lots for sale from over 250 to less than a dozen. Sale prices are 2 to 3 times higher than just 6 short years ago. We need Board Members not driven by personal agendas, but ones that have the best interests of the Resort at heart.
