l ¨a£` Yet we are Your people, the children of Your covenant, the children of Abraham whom You loved, giving him Your promise on Mount Moriah; the descendants of Isaac, bound as an offering on the altar; the congregation of Jacob ‘Your son, Your special son’; out of Your love for him and Your delight in him, You changed his name to Israel and Yeshurun. Blessed are You God, You make Your name holy before all. KEx ¨A Blessed are You, our Living God, Sovereign of the universe, whose commandments make us holy, and who commands us to devote ourselves to the study of Torah. 1 EN«¥` These are the things whose interest we enjoy in this world, while the capital remains for us in the world to come – this is what they are: Respecting one’s father and mother, acts of generosity and love, coming early to the House of Study, morning and evening, giving hospitality to strangers, visiting the sick, engaging with prayer, making peace between companions. And the study of Torah leads to them all. 2 assisting the bride, escorting the dead, THE GIFT OF TORAH
