Awards, Grants and Scholarships DallasHR gives back with three annual scholarships and new in 2019, we began offering Grants for members who need financial assistance to participate in Education Events, two-day seminars, certification preparation courses, The HRSouthwest Conference and more. Grants DallasHR’s Chapter Grant Program was funded and implemented in 2019 to provide any member the opportunity to advance their career through professional development. By applying for a Chap- ter Grant, members receive financial assistance to achieve their educational goals. Individuals who hold an active DallasHR chapter membership can apply for any grant throughout the year. Applications are open year-round. Preference is given to members with more than one year of active membership and to those who have attended Education Events in the past. Scholarships The Chapter offers several scholarships for both current and future HR professionals. The Diane McClendon Scholarship recognizes HR professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to the field of HR, the Drew Young Scholarship encourages undergraduate and graduate students prepar- ing for work in the field of HR management and the Excellence in Education Student Scholarship is awarded to students currently in school seeking HR degrees. In 2019, more than $15,000 was awarded to scholarship recipients.
