6. Assist, guide and influence architects and other consultants with all landscaping issues concerning new buildings or major maintenance projects. Oversee the performance of all landscape work within the specification and the contracted or budgeted costs. Interpret plans of buildings, infrastructure and surroundings, visualise impact of designs and advise accordingly for Manor Park campus, Research Park, Surrey Sports Park, Blackwell and Hazel Farm and Stag Hill campus site) 7. Ensure all Grounds staff work in accordance with all appropriate Health and Safety at Work regulations and with University and Departmental Safety policies and procedures. Oversee the drafting and up-dating of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH assessments and records and review as necessary to keep them up-to-date. Arrange any necessary training provision to ensure that Grounds staff carry out the required work safely and effectively. Ensure correct PPE (quality) is procured and issued to all grounds staff and that appropriate protection is worn for the job and the time of the year. 8. To provide specialist knowledge in Horticultural services to provide solutions across University collaborations. Undertake benchmarking of performance and evaluation of other similar activities both within and outside of the sector.
