We planned onmasterminding in the Idahomountains and in our free time, get in some fly fishing at my dear friend Randy Garn’s trout ranch. This trip was off the charts amazing and it was all frickin’ men. Just pure testosterone. Even better? Three of them, Lewis, Anthony, and Trent all played in the NFL. So this was not just all dudes, it was a straight up “pretend we aren’t in competition for everything even though we are” long weekend of fun and learning. Who got the best room in the lodge, who ate the most steak, who got up earlier, ran the mountain in the best time, and all the rest as you can imagine. It was a blast. The learning from each other, the outdoors, the breakthroughs came together magically and yes, the unspoken competition was building up until it was time for an actual challenge with teams and prizes. Well, mostly bragging rights. The competitionwas fishing. The cool part was I didn’t have to be six-feet-plus and look like a Greek God to compete. Yes I stay in shape, but I’m no Anthony Trucks, who also competed in and won American Ninja Warrior on TV. In fishing, thankfully those assets really don’t matter.
