Dawn Kelly
Background and Work Experience I have over twenty years’ experience of working within the public sector as a human resource and learning and development professional, as a consultant I have worked as a business growth specialist supporting private and voluntary sector organisations. I have worked extensively with organisations as a qualified business and executive coach for fourteen years, around change in culture and behaviours, my strength based coaching approach links into everything I do. For the last five years I have specialised in coaching leaders to transform their leadership style and helping teams’ transition from high potential to high performance, working with public sector organisations helping to embed a coaching culture. I have also worked with academics from Birmingham, Sheffield and Manchester universities, democratic leaders and communities looking at empowerment and asset-based development, producing a report, testing the 21st Century Councillor research. Approach My style is influenced by my depth and breadth of experience working with coaching clients at different levels within public and private sector organisations, including the fire service, NHS and schools and democratic leaders. I feel I strike the right balance between support, challenge, progress and enjoyment as we discover what you really want to change, identify experiences that enable this, build upon strengths and outline options, choices and opportunities to achieve this. My approach is to create relationships of high trust in which individuals feel able to explore any potential barriers and to break these down so that they can move forward with confidence and achieve their goals in keeping with their own values and those of their organisation. I receive excellent feedback from my coaching clients who have said that I have provided them with the opportunity to gain greater insights in how they think and work and what they need to change to move forward positively.
