In honor of Ford’s genius, we want to take a minute this month to recognize one of the systems in place at our own office we’ve found invaluable, and the wonderful employee who came up with it: Karen Sparrow. Karen has been a member of our team since January 2018, and has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, which makes her a real asset to our company. She’s also the one who started the practice of writing handwritten thank-you notes and inspirational messages on every packaging list we send out. Thank-you notes are a lost art that should be much more common, and we love that Karen has put a system in place to ensure they always go out to our customers. Not only does Karen enjoy writing the notes, but we’ve also heard from clients that they love receiving them. One company cuts out the handwritten messages each month and pins them to a bulletin board, and we’ve even had customers going through difficult times call to tell us the words of encouragement brought them to tears. How to Update Your Topical Selection With Products Your Patients Will Love THE TOPICAL TEST RUN This summer, Chiro1Source Owner Josh Walker sat down with Dr. Steven Weiniger to talk topicals. Dr. Weiniger is the author, speaker, and all-around posture guru behind PosturePractice.com, and he had plenty of insider tips to pass on for clinics stuck in a topical rut. Here’s a rundown of one of his favorite methods your clinic can use to craft a topical selection your patients will love. The backbone of this strategy is what Dr. Weiniger calls the clinical approach. Basically, rather than following the usual doctor’s office model of seeing a patient and giving specific instructions on which type of topical cream to use, Dr. Weiniger suggests you offer patients multiple options. Give the patient two or three samples with instructions to try one today, another tomorrow, and the last on day three, and ask them to come back into the office with feedback on what worked best. In our years of working with clinics across the country, one of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that when it comes to doing business, the client’s opinion is always right. Here at Chiro1Source, sometimes we fall in love with a product before we figure out whether the market wants it. The same thing can happen in clinics: Just because you love a product doesn’t mean it will suit your patients best. Dr. Weiniger’s approach involves the patient in the decision, giving them more control over their health. Everyone’s body is different and responds differently to treatment, so it’s wise to take any steps you can to make your treatment more personalized. Plus, if you use Dr. Weiniger’s method with multiple patients, you’ll be able to get a good idea of which topicals work best overall. If everyone likes one or two of the creams you’ve sent out, then it’s a good bet stocking those will lead to increased sales down the road.
