ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL HISTORY SINGLETON PARK CAMPUS

Take a historical and archaeological approach to exploring more than 2,000 years of history across Europe, the Mediterranean world, and beyond. By studying the Ancient Greeks and Romans alongside the states and societies of the Middle Ages, you'll develop a richer understanding of how the peoples and events of the distant past continue to shape the modern world.

With a large number of modules to choose from, you can study themes including politics, warfare and empire, gender, religion, and economics. You'll investigate the ancient and medieval pasts through objects, images, and places, as well as written sources. You can also study languages, including ancient Greek and Latin. Drawing on our wide-ranging expertise in ancient and medieval history, you will examine civilisations that may appear distant but remain influential in our own time.
