ENGLISH LITERATURE SINGLETON PARK CAMPUS

Studying English Literature will give you the skills to read and to write critically and creatively, engaging with powerful and universal topics and ideas. You can explore over 1,000 years of literature, from Middle English texts to current works shortlisted for the prestigious international Dylan Thomas Prize. You can study national and global literature including the medieval and Renaissance periods, Gothic fiction, 19th century literature and modern, contemporary and digital texts.

Choose from a fascinating range of English Literature and creative writing styles, genres and topics, from Beowulf to the present day, and tailor your degree to your interests. You will learn from established writers whose work has been widely published, broadcast and performed. We have close links with the creative industries, and you can get involved in projects with the Dylan Thomas Centre and the National Theatre Wales. You can also join visits to national theatres, archives and museums to familiarise yourself with a variety of professional environments, and there is also the opportunity to undertake a semester studying abroad.
