Martin St-Pierre terminera sa saison de la LNA (Ligue nationale A) au sein de l’équipe Lausanne HC de la Suisse. Le hockeyeur originaire d’Embrun a été sollicité par l’équipe helvète notamment pour participer aux séries éliminatoires à venir alors que l’équipe compte plusieurs joueurs blessés. L’athlète local s’alignait cette saison le Medvescak, de Zagreb, en Croatie, dans la KHL. «Je suis très fier dema saison à Zagreb. La Croatie est un pays incroyable et ça a été toute une expérience pour moi», a-t-il confié. Avec Zagreb, Martin St-Pierre a marqué 10 buts et obtenu 23 mentions d’aide en 57 matchs. En terminant sa saison avec Lausanne, le hockeyeur local sera ainsi agent libre partout en Europe. «Je vais donc m’assoir prochainement avecmon agent afin de voir si j’ai des offres dans la KHL. Je pourrais également revenir en Suisse oumême aller en Suède, tout dépendra des offres.» Martin St-Pierre est un ancien des Hawks de Hawkesbury de la saison 1999-2000. Il s’est par la suite aligné avec les Black Hawks

The Casselman Vikings Novice B1 won the 1st Annual MikeMulvaney Tournament which was held in Peterborough, February 13 to 15. The Vikings started with two impressive wins. They beat the Nepean Ice Dragons 4-1 and went on to triumph 10-0 over the Peterborough Storm. On February 14th, the team continued its hot streak with a 4-1 win over the Barrie Orange Crush and another 8-0 shutout win over the NepeanDodge Vipers, to claim a spot into the semi-finals. On the last day, the Casselman team beat the Port Perry Predators 11-0 to make it to the finals. This time, the Vikings met their match but were able to take it home with a 3-2 shootout win against the Barrie Orange Crush. The Carleton-Russell Little League Baseball Club holds pre-season registration star- ting at the end of February and on to mid-March at the Casselman, Embrun, and Russell arenas. Registration takes place at all three sites on February 28 and March 4, at Casselman and Russell on March 7, and at Embrun on March 11 and 14.
