The Region 2 4-H Go For The Gold competition was held in Vankleek Hill recently with five teams hailing from Prescott, Carleton, Frontenac, Grenville, and Renfrew Counties competing for the championship title. Prescott 4-H hosted the event, with sponsorship from Ontario Mutuals, Farm Credit Canada and Masterfeeds Carrie Morrison. This was the very first time that the regional competition was held in Vankleek Hill. Teams played four games, and then moved on to the semi-finals, with Carleton and Ren- frew competing in the championship game. Representing Region 2 at the provincial com- petition at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto in November will be the team from Carleton.

Steve Baron, of Hawkesbury, won first prize in the 1900-1939 division of the recent Auto Expo 2012 show in Hawkesbury with his 1923 FordModel T. Second place in the category went to Peter Nicoll, of Rigaud, who exhibited a 1935 Rolls Royce.
