SERENA ELIJAH Lagos, Nigeria Aerospace Engineering ’26
AIDA CIRLAN-HUSTEA Bucharest, Romania Aeronautical Science ’25
Elijah chose to attend Embry-Riddle due to her interests in aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineering. She has earned a Women of Excellence Scholarship, has made the Dean’s List and is a member of the International Student Organization, among others. “At Embry-Riddle I have learned to be my own person, thanks to God and to the small but quality population of the school. I have had an intimate learning experience and I am able to meet new people from various backgrounds; religious, academic, social, etc. I have been able to learn from a diverse pool of people and incorporate their characteristics into my life to become the best I can be.”
Initially drawn to Embry-Riddle due to her passion for academia and flying, Cirlan-Hustea soon discovered that the university had much more to offer. On top of being an executive member of the Aeronautical Honor Society, Alpha Omicron Alpha and a member of the Aviation Safety Advisory Council, she is the president of International Ambassadors, an on-campus group dedicated to easing the transition to college life for international students. “This experience has taught me strong leadership skills, as well as time management. I am sure there was no better way for me to gain those fundamental skills that will guide me throughout my career as a pilot... I believe that it is equally important for a student to be hardworking in class and in flight training, but also greatly involved in campus activities. Embry-Riddle gives students the opportunity to balance those two and launch their careers.”
