MAY MARYZANA MAGINDE Papua New Guinea B.S. Aerospace Engineering ’19 M.S. Airworthiness Engineering ‘25 Growing up as a world-traveler, Maryzana Maginde envisioned herself earning a degree in the Netherlands or Australia. However, Embry-Riddle scholarships and her love for engineering took her down a different path. After earning her degree, Maryzana Maginde took on roles at Lufthansa, Hwaker Pacific Aerospace and now Safran, where she works as a stress engineer. “The highlight of my Embry‑Riddle experience was meeting friends for life who all share the same passion for aviation as I do. All of us come from different walks of life, attending Embry‑Riddle for one purpose and then continuing our own journeys, but remaining close friends regardless of distance. The Embry‑Riddle community I was submerged into was a small, close-knit one, and it truly helped with acclimatizing to the U.S.”
LUCAS CRISTALDI Brazil B.S. Aeronautics ’25
Cristaldi immigrated to the U.S. in 2018 from Brazil, deciding to join the U.S. Air Force. He participated in the NASA Solar System Ambassadors program, focused on public education. He has since brought NASA’s message to audiences in the U.S. and Brazil, highlighting current NASA missions and showing others how they can achieve their dreams. “After finishing tech school and earning my Community College of the Air Force degree, I started looking into what classes I could transfer to Embry‑Riddle.
