Internships and Career Outlook

Internships & Co-ops Internship and career services professionals at Embry-Riddle, who have industry-specific specialties, can assist you in finding valuable experiences to add to your resume. Curricular Practical Training (CPT) allows students to receive academic credit for co-op/internship experience and learn on-the-job skills prior to earning their degree. You must be a full-time student for at least one year and choose a program where this is required in order to qualify. Optional Practical Training (OPT) is recommended for post-graduation co-ops/internships and provides students with a 12-month work authorization. You must be a full-time student for at least two consecutive semesters and plan to seek employment in the U.S. in your field(s) of study to qualify. Internships in electrical and computer engineering are well-paid positions and may include benefits such as housing and relocation allowances.

Embry-Riddle alumni obtain jobs with prestigious employers in both private industry and government, while others carve their own paths as successful entrepreneurs.

ANISA IMTIAZ Bangladesh B.S. Aeronautical Science ’25

Following in her father’s footsteps, Imtiaz felt drawn to the skies from a young age but was told that women were not supposed to be pilots. Pushing aside those who doubted her, she followed her dreams, becoming the first female Bangladeshi airline pilot in the U.S., serving as a Republic Airways first officer while earning her degree from Embry-Riddle. “Every time I put on my uniform, I remember that I am not just flying for myself, but for every girl who has been told ‘no,’ for every family who wonders ‘what if?’ Don’t be afraid of the unknown. The path ahead will be hard, but trust the dream in your heart. You are stronger than you know. Never let anyone else define your limits.”

“When I made the decision to study in the U.S., I was looking for a school with great academics, a good location and a great tennis team. I visited multiple schools in Florida, and Embry‑Riddle was the one that made me feel at home right away. The Aerospace Physiology bachelor’s program opened doors in all healthcare fields and prepared me perfectly for graduate school.”
