Every individual from LGBTQ+ community is my “IDOL”. The LGBTQ+ community fights for equal rights, break the shackles of society and bringing change to the world. They inspire me to be myself and feel powerful to bring the change.
Who in the LGBTQ+ community inspires you ?
Russell T Davies In his screenwriting and TV work he explores issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community in such a powerful way, with empathy, rawness, and honesty. He educates whether or not you may identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Alan Turing He is considered the father of computer science and artificial intelligence as we know them today. He had a history changing role during the 2nd World War. After the war, he was condemned for homosexual acts and went through chemical castration until his death a few years later. In 2013 he was granted a posthumous pardon and a law in the UK was voted in 2017 to retroactively pardon all men convicted for homosexual acts. This law is informally known as Alan Turing law. He faced many struggles in his life because of his sexuality, nevertheless he gave a huge contribution to the society revolutionizing the world of technology as we know it today • Acceptance - accepting all of those who idenitfy as LGBTQ+ - remembering and honoring the history of this community and howfar they’ve come. Acknowledging there is still much work to be done in places. Pride is about celebrating too and bringing people together in acceptance, for equality and to raise awareness and educate on issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. It is a celebration of people coming together in harmony to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, and how in some places there’s still work to be done. • Being able to celebrate your identity and orientation without fear, promoting equality and dignity of each individual. • Pride means celebration of diversity to me. Like a rainbow, it reminds me that the ability to see different colour makes life enriching and beautiful. What does pride mean to you?

• It ’s a celebration of the whole community as well as a reminder of the progress we still have to do in society. It’s the occasion to celebrate with likeminded people and create a safe environment for people who might not be comfortable in the day-to-day society. However, it also makes people with LGBTQ+ phobias more vocal and shows that this is still not completely accepted in society. The origins of pride and progress made since are a reminder that the fight is worth it.
Why is is important for you to be involved with the LGBTQ+ community?
• As an ally I want to support my friends and colleagues who are part of the community and I want to encourage others to do the same. • To support others, give representation and push for progress. In 2022 we shouldn’t have to fear any repercussion for living our true self! Sexual orientation and gender/gender expression in 2022 should not have any impact on people’s lives.
• There is more to be done to protect the rights of this community. I want to give my support to its everyday activities and challenges in making the society more accepting. • LGBTQ+ community has gone through a years of struggle to change paradigm of society. I want to be ally and support them to keep moving forward.

• Being accepted for who you are. • In many countries being part of the LGBTQ+ community is still illegal and can be convicted by death. Even in countries where it is widely accepted, many practices are still hurting the community I’d love this to change.
• Eliminate any kind of discrimination and disrespect based on someone’s identity or orientation, creating a more welcoming and equal society. • Boost awareness to create more inclusive environment in school/colleges and home.
