The live image is always visible on screen and defects are visible both as they occur and in the defect viewer. The defect viewer sorts images, pro- vides close examination opportunities and highlights rea- sons for the defect being identified. Defect data are stored in SQL format and defect images are stored for later in- spection. The entire process can be automated – no hu- man intervention is required to arm the system if the stan- dard is available from a pdf or if an existing product that has been learned. Tolerances can be grouped by specific product numbers or even product families to simplify the process of getting the tolerances right for each customer. “Statistical Process Control Charts are available for se- lect PrintChek measurements to assess machine capabil- ity and monitor how well operators are adhering to target values. The charts include all the normal SPC values plus CP and CPk reported throughout the order for various sample sizes.
