I n its 16-year history, Envision Innovative Solutions has worked in a constantly changing area of technology, and they have kept up the rapid pace the industry demands. If you compare computers now to what they were back in 2006, you’ll understand the focus required of Envision.

Headquartered in Wall, New Jersey, the company also has offices in Orlando, Florida, and the historic Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. According to Envision President and CEO Alex Cortez, Envision is a small business with a history of developing and maintaining computer software, performing IT consulting, focusing on cybersecurity and providing related engineering, and business operations services to federal and commercial customers. During the last several years, Envision expanded into an even more burgeoning field: extended reality (XR). “In XR, we provide custom endpoint-to- endpoint solutions, leveraging emerging technologies such as augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR) to enhance classroom learning, industrial training, immersive simulation, real-time maintenance, and 4D weather visualization,” Cortez explained. “Running on a variety of commercial devices, including laptops and tablets, these solutions maximize efficiency by reducing the cost of doing business.”

Envision provides its services to multiple U.S. Army clients at Aberdeen Proving Ground, including the Communications- Electronics Command Software Engineering Center and the Combat Capabilities Development Command C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Center. Envision also works with other federal clients like the National Park Service and the Department of the Interior. Additionally, Envision has been contracted by the U.S. Architect of the Capitol, the agency responsible for maintaining and preserving the Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C., to release an app called “Who Are the People?” The app uses AR to allow users to interact with 3D statues from the National Statuary Hall Collection in the Capitol from the comfort of their own home. There are 25 Envision staff members at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and they worked closely with the St. John Properties team to design offices to suit their needs.

“We had ideas of what we wanted and needed, and St. John’s space planners realized that for us from design to color selections,” Cortez said. “Our marketing team recognized early that the Guardian Gateway complex provides a wide variety of networking opportunities and, therefore, would be a prime location.” Through working with St. John, Envision was able to smoothly begin their operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground. “St. John has a great set of professionals at all levels, helping to make property selection easy. They were also supportive in providing a facility that meets all our needs, from initial selection to final delivery of property.”
