Beaverdam Park has something for everyone with its 635 acre lake and acres of natural splendor. The park is open seven days a week, and is located in the central part of the county. Main Entrance: 8687 Roaring Springs Road Second Entrance: 9537 Fary’s Mill Road

HUG A TREE AND SURVIVE November 12 | 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Free | Stewart Building For ages 7-11. Hug a Tree and Survive was created many years ago after a tragic accident. This program teaches how to help yourself be found if you ever become lost. It includes info on how searchers look for you, how to stay dry and warm, and how to be patient. Pre-Registration is Required! FALL FULL PADDLE October 25 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. | $5 (add $15 if you need to rent equipment) | Ranger Station Join Rangers by paddling from our secondary entrance (Fary's Mill) to our Main entrance (Roaring Springs) to get the full fall foliage experience.

PARK AFTER DARK Multiple Dates | $5 (under 16 FREE) | Ranger Station | Registration Closes at Closing Time. Beaverdam is generally open during the daylight hours, where we see hundreds of visitors! It’s great. The after dark hours are generally for the wild residents of the park! Join us as we keep the gates open late for you to experience the beauty and activity of the park at night. You can take a self-guided night hike, a self- guided bike ride or hit the lake for boating, kayaking or canoeing (all regular launch and rental fees apply). All activities require head lamps. You must check-in and check-out at Ranger Station.
NATURALIST PADDLE November 8 | 2-5 p.m. | $5 | Ranger Station
For ages 16 and older, 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Join us on a guided paddle as we make our way out to explore Beaverdam Reservoir and all the wildlife in their natural habitat, and enjoy the sunset on the lake as a serene end to our paddle. $15 rental equipment (arrive early to get fitted for rentals).
OWL PROWL (Family Friendly) November 15 | 5-8 p.m. | $5 | Ranger Station
Join our park team for an evening of calling, listening to and learning about owls. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and wear appropriate footwear as the group will be walking the trails at night. Bring your binoculars and camera if you have one. Registration is required. Space is limited. OWL WALK November 21 | 5-8 p.m. | $5 | Fary’s Mill Entrance | 16+ Join our Beaverdam Birders for an evening of calling, listening to and learning about owls. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and wear appropriate footwear as the group will be walking the trails at night. Bring your binoculars and camera if you have one. Registration is required. Space is limited.

GLO PARK AFTER DARK October 17 | 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. | $5 (under 16 FREE) | Ranger Station | Registration Closes at 5 p.m. Beaverdam Park is usually bustling with hundreds of visitors during daylight hours—and we love it! But when the sun sets, the park becomes a peaceful haven for our resident wildlife... until now! Come experience a glow-tastic evening like no other with a Glowing Nature Trail and a Special Scavenger Hunt that will bring a magical twist to your nighttime adventure.
KID'S FRESHWATER WORKSHOP September 27 | 2-5 p.m. | $5 | Ranger Station
Introduce your child to the joys of freshwater fishing in this hands- on, beginner-friendly workshop! Kids will learn how to cast, bait a hook, and safely catch and release common freshwater fish. All gear is provided—just bring your enthusiasm!
THE FULL HIKE 3rd Saturdays | $5 | Ranger Station | Registration Closes The Day Before Beaverdam has beautiful trails where you can enjoy the flora and fauna of Gloucester. The Multi-use Trail runs from the park’s main entrance to the Fary’s Mill Road entrance. We will shuttle you to FMR and drop you off at the trail so that you can hike, self- guided, the approximately 9 mile hike. Dress for the weather and in sturdy shoes. Bring water, snacks/food and binoculars and camera if you like.
KID'S SALTWATER WORKSHOP September 28 | 2-5 p.m. | $5 | Ranger Station
Join us for a fun and educational workshop where young anglers will learn the basics of saltwater fishing! Kids will get hands-on experience with casting, baiting, and identifying local fish species—perfect for beginners and curious explorers alike.
