FALL GYMNASTICS Head Coach: Caitlyn Coltrain. For ages 3-18 (still in high school). Parents are not permitted at practice sessions. There will be an open house at the end of the session to see what your gymnast has learned. All students MUST be fully potty trained. Beginner/Intro to Intermediate 6 & up: must have handstand, cartwheels, back bends with assistance and bridge with head off the ground . Intermediate/advanced 6 & up: must have back bend with minimal assistance, working on front walkover, handstand fall to bridge, backhand springs, and front handsprings. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MOVE STUDENTS INTO BEGINNER CLASSES IF THEY HAVE NOT ACHIEVED THE INTERMEDIATE REQUIREMENTS. Please be sure that your student should be in intermediate before enrolling (look for videos on the registration website). Beginner classes fill quickly, and we may not have room in beginner classes for students incorrectly enrolled in intermediate classes to be moved into beginner classes. If in doubt, register for beginner, we have a better chance of moving a student to intermediate than to beginner. Instructor: Aela Badiana. For ages 16 and older. This class is for those new dancers or those wanting to brush up on technique. This low impact workout is a great core strength building exercise, while having fun shimmying. Different styles of belly dance will be introduced as well as some historical background of this fascinating ancient art form. No dance experience necessary. Dress comfortable and bring water! September 8 – October 27 | November 3 – December 22 INTERNATIONAL CUISINE CULINARY CLUB Wednesdays | 5:30-7:30 p.m. | $105 | Stewart Building Instructor: Aela Badiana. For ages 16 and older. In this 8-week course you will explore international cuisine, and characteristic cooking practices and traditions, often associated with a specific region, country or culture. We will use ingredients accessible to us here in Virginia and recreate treats from around the world: German, French, Italian, Turkish, Indian, Thai, Mexican, just to name a few. August 27 – October 15 | October 22 – December 10 BELLY DANCE Mondays | 7-8 p.m. | $65 | Whitcomb Lodge TOUCH-A-TRUCK Touch-A-Truck is back in 2025 and with a new location – The Old Page Grounds! Bring the whole family for an exciting day of getting up close and personal with all sorts of cool vehicles! From fire trucks, police cruisers, and construction rigs to tractors, tow trucks, and more! This event is free to the public, registration is required. Sunday, November 9 from 12-4 p.m. (Rain date November 16).

KARATE Mondays or Thursdays | T. C. Walker Gymnasium Sensei Brian Jensen. Ages 4+. Learn the Shorinji Ryu style Japanese Karate form. Karate provides the opportunity to increase balance, strength, self-discipline & self-confidence. Kata forms are traditional & can be used in AAU or open tournament.

CHAIR YOGA (STRETCH & BALANCE) Wednesdays | 10:30-11:30 a.m. | $64 | Stewart Building Instructor: Michaela Lee. For 50 and older. A chair yoga class, so no need to get on the floor, unless you want to. We will explore slow and measured movements and strengthening poses. Focusing on breath helps you improve your balance, flexibility, stability and strength as well as giving you a sense of well-being and enhanced quality of life. Dress comfortable, bring a yoga mat and water. October 29-December 17 Instructor: Nichole Knott. For ages 13 and older. You can expect a creative, soulful, adventurous and fun flow that weaves together breath and movement with moderate holds which steadily builds muscle, inner strength and stamina. Nichole’s style of teaching is structured, fluid and playful – offering options of openness, depth and strength so everyone will be appropriately challenged. Bring a mat, blocks, strap and water. Yoga with a focus on breath helps you improve your balance, flexibility, stability and strength. The practice of yoga will help you to have a sense of well- being and enhanced quality of life.
