WestRock Receives Top Design Of The Times Award WestRock, Norcross, Georgia, was recognized at the Path to Purchase Design of the Times Awards for in- store activation excellence. The company won 18 awards — the most of any entrant — including the “Best of the Times Award,” given to the top display of the year. The Design of the Times competition celebrates in- store displays and digital activations, and recognizes their role in any successful shopper marketing initia- tive.The competition is sponsored by the Path to Pur- chase Institute, a global member community that champions shopper-centric thinking and practice that help define the ongoing evolution of consumer marketing and the overall shopping experience. WestRock earned the “Best of the Times Award” — the competition’s top award — for its Disney - Wal- mart WOW Rogue One Display. This Walmart-exclu- sive display, with Star War s Rogue One home entertainment product, provided a entertainment ex- perience for photo opportunities with life-sized Star Wars characters. In addition to the “Best of the Times Award,” We- stRock earned one platinum, three gold, four silver, and nine bronze awards for a range of displays.

AWA Release Liner Meeting To Focus On Customer Voice The theme of the 2018 Global Release Liner Indus- try Conference and Exhibition is the “Voice of the Customer”. Organized annually by AWA Alexander Watson Associates, the meeting will be held next year in,Amsterdam, February 14-16, at the Hilton Hotel. The agenda for the 2018 conference will span the many different markets for release liner, from pressure- sensitive tapes and labels to medical and electronics applications, and will feature presentations from lead- ing companies as well as AWA’s global analysis of the markets’ current status and future directions.The con- ference keynote presentation will be given by Jeroen Diderich, Vice President and General Manager EMEA for Avery Dennison Materials Group.The event will in- clude the annual real-time industry survey — and its results — conducted with the conference delegates. The annual Executive Leadership Panel, moderated by AWA’s President and CEO Corey M. Reardon, will bring together Jeroen Diderich; Frederic Jacquin, Se- nior Vice President, Elkem Silicones; Simon Medley, CEO, Loparex; and Petri Hakanen, Senior Vice Presi- dent, Specialty Papers.At the end of the first day’s full session, the AWA Release Liner Industry Award 2018 will be presented.
