The Role

Role responsibilities:

development of infrastructure estates and services.

• Deliver specialist services as a space management expert practitioner, providing accurate and efficient analyses of space usage across the University.

• Manage and monitor health and safety assessments and procedures, ensuring compliance, within area of responsibility.

• Review and update the Space Management Policy and Procedures.

• Any other reasonable duties.

Specific Role requirements

• Delegate authority and responsiblility to make decisions about the quality, level and nature of service and staffing necessary to meet operational and annual strategic business objectives. • Lead the design, development and implementation of service deliverables and influence organisational transformation to deliver value for money. • Lead the development of five to ten-year space plans, regarding the effective utilisation of space, which will feed into the Estates’ Masterplan and appropriate business cases. • Responsible for space utilisation across the University, including the management of the Estates Management Statistical (EMS) information. • Work with team members and stakeholders to build and maintain excellent working relationships, on all matters relating to space utilisation. • Build and establish contacts and networks with key stakeholders, internal and external staff, suppliers, contractors and industry specialists. • Carry out research to determine technological/ system/facility trends and translate these into implications, risks and opportuntities for operational service quality managment and delivery. • Lead, manage and implement one or more major projects, as appropriate, across the organisation, monitoring and mapping performance, and providing progress reports and mitigating actions to ensure key deliverables and targets are met.

• May be required to work evenings and weekends, as business demands.

• There may be a requirement for the post-holder to participate in local on-call arrangements, as relevant to this role.

• Take a leading role in the University’s Academic Space Planning Group (ASPG).

• Represent the University at AUDE Space Management Group events.

• Attend all training and professional development, as required.
