Accessibility The Ekka is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all visitors, ensuring everyone can enjoy Queensland’s most iconic event. A range of services and facilities are available across the Brisbane Showgrounds to support accessibility, comfort, and ease of movement throughout the Show, including: 1. Step-free access at Exhibition Station, including ramps, lifts, and hearing loop technology. 2. Scooter, wheelchair, and stroller hire available daily from 9am to 5pm, located beneath the John MacDonald Stand. 3. Accessible restroom facilities located throughout the Showgrounds, including additional portable amenities. 4. Ramps providing easy access between roads, footpaths, and pavilion entrances. Lifts are also available on each level of the 7NEWS Community Pavilion and the Large Animal Pavilion. 5. Dedicated accessibility drop-off and pick-up zones for vehicles and taxis on Costin Street. 6. Two wheelchair-accessible viewing areas in the Main Arena. 7. Designated disability parking spaces available in the King Street Car Park. 8. Entry permitted for certified guide dogs, hearing dogs, and assistance animals. 9. Accessible pathways and wayfinding signage to assist visitors navigating the grounds. Visitors are encouraged to visit the Ekka website or Information Booths during the Show for the latest accessibility information

Free water refill stations to encourage the use of reusable drink bottles.

Implementing waste reduction and recycling programs throughout the precinct. Through these initiatives, the RNA is working to ensure the Ekka remains a vibrant, responsible, and sustainable event for generations to come. Facilities  ATM facilities are located around the Showgrounds.  EFTPOS facilities are available near most ticket entry gates.  Toilets are in most buildings around the Showgrounds.  Locker facilities are primarily located under the John MacDonald Stand but can also be found at several other locations around the Showgrounds.  Drinking tap water is located at several sites around the Showgrounds. Guest Wi-Fi The RNA will provide Wi-Fi to keep Ekka guests connected during their visit to the Show. Guests can access the Wi-Fi at five key locations around grounds – on the Plaza, in Expo Place, Sushi Hub Dog Pavilion and Animal Nursery, at XXXX Stockmen’s Bar and Grill and in the Members Bar. Mobile phone charging A secure mobile phone charging station can be found near the locker facilities under the John MacDonald Stand

and support services. Sustainability

The Ekka continues to build on its commitment to sustainability through the RNA’s long-term Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy, which guides initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and creating a more sustainable future. Key sustainability initiatives across the Brisbane Showgrounds include:

Generating energy through 1,000 solar panels installed on the roof of the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC).

Maintaining Green Globe Certification for the Royal ICC.

Partnering with OzHarvest to rescue surplus food from RNA-operated outlets.
