Lionel Blumel (RNA Councillor in Charge) T 0419 798 779 Cat Competition presented by Sushi Hub Sushi Hub Cat Precinct Adorable Shorthair kittens will kick off proceedings for this year’s Cat Competition presented by Sushi Hub, with UK and Canadian judges casting an expert eye over the fabulous felines from Saturday 10 to Wednesday 14 August. This year a total of 25 breeds of cats will be taking up residence in the Sushi Hub Cat Precinct (Building 8, Alexandria Park) for judging followed by the Cat Breed Showcase from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 August. The Breed Showcase will feature informative, educational and interactive displays for visitors with breed talks at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. The highlight of the showcase will be the popular ‘Pat a Cat or Kitten’ sessions, for visitors to get up close and personal with the purr-fectly preened felines. Be it long haired or short, folded ears or straight, there will be many meow-nificient cats and kittens participating in this year’s competition, which will culminate in the Best in Show presentations on Wednesday 14 August. D Dairy Cattle

Large Animal Pavilion (Level 1) and Main Arena The best of the best in Australian diary cattle will judged and displayed at the Ekka, with the six breeds including Ayrshire, Guernsey, Illawarra, Jersey, Holstein and Brown Swiss. The exhibitors will be vying for a slice of the $32,000 in prize money for this year’s Dairy Cattle competition. Dairy cattle will this year be displayed on Level 1 of Large Animal Pavilion, with judging taking place on the Main Arena. The cattle are judged on the quality of their milk and appearance. Highlights include the crowning of the Supreme Dairy Cow on Friday 16 August from 2.30pm, and the All Breeds Youth Show on Wednesday 14 August at 2.30pm encouraging the next generation of exhibitors.
