n Horse competitions: Gender-based classes have been updated. #192 was Gentlemen riding a gelding; now Rider on Gelding. #193 was Ladies riding a mare; now Mare Riding. #200 was gentlemen riding/hack; now Rider on horse. #201 was Ladies riding/hack mare; now rider/hack mare. n Poultry, Pigeons, Birds and Eggs: Feature breeds Brahma and Cochin (chicken) and Muscovy (duck) n Wearable Art Competition is now its own competition, separate to Natural Fibres Make & Model with the 2024 theme being Your Imagination. Judges and Stewards The Ekka’s judges and stewards play an important role in the success of the competitions. More than 800 judges and stewards will this year be involved across the 48 competition sections. The time and effort they give allows the Ekka to run world-class competitions that recognise and reward hard-working exhibitors.
Y Young Judges Several locations around grounds
Young Judges presented by Aussie Helpers gives aspiring show judges the chance to showcase their talents in live judging. There are 20 judging sections including beef cattle, cake decorating and photography. The Young Judges Competition is open to people aged 25 years and under, with a Junior Class for under 15 year-olds and a Senior Class for 15 to 25 year-olds. The judging will happen at the Ekka across several days.
