STRATEGY FOR THE GREATEST IMPACT As a nimble, small, but growing organization, Food & Water Action knows how to be strategic with our resources. That’s why we’re targeting races where we will have the greatest impact — districts where people care about our issues, where the margins are razor-thin, and where we
have robust relationships and resources. Below are three of our national races we’re targeting this year.
Food & Water Action team in Iowa
IOWA-01
This year, to flip IA-01 blue, we will: Knock on 40,000 doors Call 20,000 voters Register 5,000 voters
In Iowa, Big Ag is poisoning the environ- ment, destroying rural communities and economies, and endangering people’s health — Iowa has the second-highest cancer incidence in the country. Our messaging and strategy when talking to constituents will highlight those abuses.
Have 6,500 conversations with voters
NEW YORK-17
This year, to flip NY-17 blue, we will: Knock on 55,000 doors
In New York, our campaigns and wins, such as banning fracking and passing legislation requiring the state’s new buildings to be all-electric, have resonated with voters because they tackle the problems they’re seeing in their bills and in their environment. Climate action and affordability will be the foundation of our messaging in one of the most flippable races in the country.

PENNSYLVANIA-07
This year, to flip PA-07 blue, we will: Knock on 54,000 doors
In Pennsylvania, our electoral work builds on more than 15 years of organizing to stop fracking and protect the health and environment of its residents. We’ve successfully elected over 20 climate champions to office. This groundwork will help us continue to hold Pennsylvania’s elected officials accountable.
