STRATEGY TO WIN THE 2026 MIDTERMS
YOUR INVESTMENT DEFENDS OUR DEMOCRACY
The Trump administration is an undeniable threat to all we hold dear — safe food, clean water, a livable climate, and our democracy. Winning in the 2026 midterms is critical to reining in Trump. Food & Water Action will build power behind some of the most important races in the country to win back the U.S. House of Representatives for Democrats this year. With your investment and partnership, we will turn the tide.
TAKE BACK THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Food & Water Action has become a powerful force in key congressional districts across the country. Our efforts in this election cycle will be paramount to winning the three Democratic seats needed to take back the House.
In 2026 nationally, we will:
Knock on more than 167,000 doors
In 2024, we knocked on more than 65,000 doors, talked to over 20,000 voters, and successfully elected 28 of our endorsed candi- dates, some by only a few thousand votes. This year, we’re using the same winning strategy to elect champions and take back the House for Democrats.
Call more than 100,000 voters
Have more than 28,000 conversations with voters
FOOD & WATER VOLUNTEER NETWORK IS CRITICAL TO OUR SUCCESS Food & Water Action will run intensive get-out- the-vote campaigns, focusing on canvassing and phone banking led by our 4,000-person-strong Food & Water Volunteer Network.
In races that are decided by a few thousand votes, our volunteers make all the difference.

STRATEGY FOR THE GREATEST IMPACT As a nimble, small, but growing organization, Food & Water Action knows how to be strategic with our resources. That’s why we’re targeting races where we will have the greatest impact — districts where people care about our issues, where the margins are razor-thin, and where we
have robust relationships and resources. Below are three of our national races we’re targeting this year.
Food & Water Action team in Iowa
IOWA-01
This year, to flip IA-01 blue, we will: Knock on 40,000 doors Call 20,000 voters Register 5,000 voters
In Iowa, Big Ag is poisoning the environ- ment, destroying rural communities and economies, and endangering people’s health — Iowa has the second-highest cancer incidence in the country. Our messaging and strategy when talking to constituents will highlight those abuses.
Have 6,500 conversations with voters
NEW YORK-17
This year, to flip NY-17 blue, we will: Knock on 55,000 doors
In New York, our campaigns and wins, such as banning fracking and passing legislation requiring the state’s new buildings to be all-electric, have resonated with voters because they tackle the problems they’re seeing in their bills and in their environment. Climate action and affordability will be the foundation of our messaging in one of the most flippable races in the country.
Call 30,000 voters Register 500 voters Have 10,000 conversations with voters
PENNSYLVANIA-07
This year, to flip PA-07 blue, we will: Knock on 54,000 doors
In Pennsylvania, our electoral work builds on more than 15 years of organizing to stop fracking and protect the health and environment of its residents. We’ve successfully elected over 20 climate champions to office. This groundwork will help us continue to hold Pennsylvania’s elected officials accountable.

JOIN US TO BUILD POWER We must rise to this moment. We’re facing an AI data center building boom that is skyrocketing our energy bills and gobbling up our water. We’re facing plastic pollution so severe that most of us are eating, drinking, and breathing particles of plastic every day. We’re facing industrial contaminants in our food and water, as well as the worsening effects of climate change. And we’re facing the violence of Trump’s authoritarian actions. That’s why Food & Water Action is fighting back with all we’ve got in the 2026 midterms. We’re building and expanding our electoral team with canvassers and phone bankers, and investing in the materials and tools needed to reach voters. WHY INVEST IN FOOD & WATER ACTION Food & Water Action has been organizing commu- nities across the country for more than 20 years. We’ve successfully elected our endorsed candidates to local, state, and federal offices over 110 times in nearly 10 years. Our strong track record is in large part due to one of Food & Water Action’s strengths: our staff and volunteers live in the districts we work in. That means we have deep relationships and an intimate understanding of what people in these communities need. It also means that after election day, we don’t pick up and leave — we stay to work hand in hand with the champions we elect and the people they serve. Our fight to protect our food, water, climate, and democracy deserves this kind of ongoing dedication. Your investment makes this work possible.
