from every car line, and a t th e season of the year when th e to u rist arriv als are most numerous. Added to these favorable circumstances, th e arm istice was signed, th e soldiers coming home daily, and the Influenza decidedly upon th e wane. Last, b u t not least, the prin cipals in' the work of th e campaign were most ably assisted by two of th e finest consecrated Gospel soloists in th e country, Mr. Cooke and Mr. Brown, and a t th e piano, an evangelistic pian ist of g reat ta le n t and consecration, Mr. Leonard C. Voke. In spite of all these statem ents, which m ight superficially indicate ¡that th e number of converts is not as larg e as it should be, we sincerely believe th a t th e very evident stamp of Divine approval rests upon the mission. It is a fact of only too common experience th a t the success of an evangelistic cam paign cannot be estim ated by the am ount of stir and excitement created, th e crowds attracted , or even the larg e number of converts enum erated sta tis tically. We all remember services of th e above description, th e resu lts of which no perm anent trace can be found six months after. I t is God alone th a t can ever really add to His tru e follow ing,—-and no evangelistic m ission can ever be I called successful, upon every featu re of which God H imself does not place His approval a t every stage of its development and progress. The meetings Were conducted for a period of five weeks; an evening service each w eek-night except Saturday, and th ree services on Sundays, making thiry-five in all. The audience m ight be said to average 1500 each n igh t and roughly it may he estim ated th a t at, least ten thousand different persons sat under Dr. Torrey’s preaching during, the time, of whom two hundred and th irty found Jesu s Christ as th e ir per sonal Saviour and many backslidden C hristians have renewed allegiance to Christ. In addition to these above ad u lt converts, fully one-hundred chilr dren su rrendered to Jesu s Christ. A hund red life-times pledged to service for Christ! This num ber of converts, consider^ ing the fact th a t Dr. Torrey and Mr. A lexander are both world famous, m ight to th e casual observer, seem too sm all for th e am ount of time, money, and effort expended. The same con clusion m ight be reached too, when one realizes th a t th e meetings were held in th e finest auditorium in th e city of Los Angeles, in the very h eart of th e down-town district, of easy access
