TIRED OF TOOL THEFT AND TEDIOUS INSURANCE CLAIMS? IT’S TIME TO GET KYNEKT | ID

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Tool theft is a major issue across the construction industry. Sites, vans

At the core of the platform is a mobile app that allows

users to build a digital inventory of tools and

equipment. Registering an item is simple: users take a photo of the tool and the app uses image recognition to identify the brand and product details automatically. It takes around 15 seconds, removing the need for paperwork or manual data entry. The inventory creates a structured record of all tools and machinery. If equipment is stolen, users can generate a detailed report for insurers

and storage areas are frequent targets, with

valuable equipment often disappearing overnight. For many in construction, losing tools is costly, but it’s not just about replacing equipment. There are delays, downtime and disrupted projects. The challenges continue long after the theft. Making an insurance claim can be time-consuming. You need to find your old receipts, photographs and serial numbers to prove ownership. This can take weeks and still doesn’t guarantee full reimbursement if documentation is missing. Insurers also see tools as high-risk items. Premiums are rising while trust between the construction industry and insurance providers is declining. Many worry they won’t receive fair payouts even when they are insured. The result is that many feel exposed, vulnerable to theft, stuck with administrative headaches, and continue paying high insurance costs. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? KYNEKT gives the construction professionals greater control over their equipment through a combination of digital asset management and embedded tracking technology.

WHAT IS THE RESULT? This is what KYNEKT provides: reduced stress and disruption following tool theft; saved time when dealing with insurance claims due to the comprehensive digital record of equipment and quick generation of reports; tracking technology for additional protection, enabling owners to locate stolen equipment in real time and disable it remotely. For many users, the main benefit is peace of mind because their tools are documented, traceable and harder to resell if stolen. The platform is in its early stages, but adoption is growing. Since launching in mid-December, the app has recorded more than 10,000 downloads and over 750 active paying subscribers. As the technology develops and partnerships with insurers evolve, KYNEKT aims to reshape how construction professionals protect and manage their valuable equipment.

directly from the app, rather than searching for receipts and documentation. Alongside the inventory system is KYNEKT | TRAK, a physical tracking device that can be installed inside tools and machinery. These devices provide real-time GPS location through the app, operating via a global carrier network rather than short-range Bluetooth. This means equipment can be tracked even if it leaves the country. If a tool is stolen, the user can remotely disable it through the app, making it unusable. Stolen tools are often resold through secondary markets, so disabling them reduces their value and disrupts the resale chain. The tracking devices are installed by approved installers. They are integrated into the tool in a way that makes removal difficult without damaging the equipment itself. While many users choose to install trackers in high- value equipment such as breakers or large machinery, the devices are small enough to fit in a wide range of tools.
