PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE

A. University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the CEMP with support from Environmental Health and Safety personnel and the Associate Vice President for Facilities maintenance and Capital Planning. 1. The Committee provides general oversight for the entire planning process and meets to address emergency preparedness, response, and recovery issues. 2. The plan also goes through continuous ongoing changes based on the results of actual events, post-exercise drills and activities, and input from units and departments tasked in this plan. The plan will be updated based on these inputs.

B. The contents of this plan must be known and understood by those people responsible for its implementation. UPPS is responsible for briefing staff members concerning their role in emergency management and the contents of this plan.

C. Department heads are responsible for development and maintenance of their respective segments of this plan and their appropriate support during implementation of all or parts of this plan.

D. The Executive Policy Group (EPG) will ensure an annual review of this plan is conducted by all officials involved in its execution. The Chief of Police or designee of UPPS will coordinate this review and any plan revision and distribution found necessary.

E. The (EPG) includes the President, Vice President of Operations, Provost/Vice President for Academic and Student Life, Vice President of Business Affairs and Finance, Vice President of Public Affairs, Chief of Staff and executive assistant.

F. The activation of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and implementation of this plan should be tested at least once a year in the form of a simulated emergency tabletop exercise. This will ensure practical, controlled experience to those emergency managers tasked within the plan.
