Project One Magazine Issue 13_Sept 2017

How are you helping? Our candidate pool is relatively small, and as 75% are passive, our job becomes that much harder. Leveraging our networks effectively, leads to more informed hiring decisions and helps to positively influence a candidates’ decision to join. Recent market figures indicate 84% of candidates would consider joining another company with an excellent reputation if offered a role. Taking a lead from our summer event, here are the recruitment calls to arms: Show Initiative: if you hear of developments in the market, get in touch. Be Curious: not been in touch with your old colleagues for a while? Chances are they could be open to a move. Let’s start a conversation. Be Compelling: keep sharing our content with your networks, it creates interest and really helps to build relationships. Be Hungry: £5,000 for every successful referral, need we say more? Be Energetic: let’s use the power of the team and harness our collective talents to give candidates a great experience. Be Brave: we have a great story and something genuinely different to offer. Let’s keep telling our story; people want to listen. What next? We want to adopt a highly personal hiring strategy, and as we streamline our processes, we need to constantly ask ourselves, what do high- quality candidates look for in a role? With your continued help we will achieve this, and 2018 will likely see us transition to a self- sufficient direct sourcing model. Thanks to all who have submitted candidates this year and supported our recruitment efforts. Congratulations to Steve O’Gorman, Andrew Cooper and Jonathon Simon for successful hires. Oh, and do you really need to be called John to work here? New joiners this year have included five Johns, a Grahamand a Nick (both first names are really John) , so yes, it could help.
