game in which the first half looked like your team was going to lose? It appeared as though one team is winning. When they came out for the second half you wondered what instructions were given by the coach. It seems like an entirely different team. They not only catch up but also go ahead to win! This is what it might look like up to the cross. The doom of defeat seemed impending. When Christ came and was resurrected from the dead, He forcefully demonstrated that every one of us could have eternal life through Him. Christ and life were the victors. You and I have the priv ilege of sharing in that great vic tory. Christ is spoken of as having been made a little lower than the angels so that He might, by the grace of Cod, taste death for ev ery man. The Savior took the pen alty that was due us. The judgment Cod had rightly decreed and man certainly deserved it. So Cod, in the person of Jesus Christ His Son, took our penalty in a moment of time while rejecting man will have to pay throughout eternity. Thus, on the basis of the work of our Lord, we pass from death unto life. After this, the Lord sets us apart as those who have His own very nature. This is what sanctification is all about. There is a popular song heard at Christmastime. You have heard, "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." With new words this could be applied as a Biblical hymn. The Word of God says, "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Every person who receives Jesus Christ as Savior, recognizing that Bethlehem means the coming of the Savior, he can not only dream
