S pecialist HVAC supplier, Exi-tite Group provided Vectaire heat recovery units for all the bedroom ventilation requirements at the Premier Inn, Gloucester Street South, Dublin. Being the official distributor for Vectaire in Ireland means that Exi-tite is the first point of contact when a building services company wants to understand the design and engineered capabilities of the Vectaire Prem3 unit. Exi-tite was asked to give technical design advice regarding the ventilation plant. The project also involved integration of its ventilation equipment with the site BMS, meaning Exi-tite’s inhouse design and technical support engineers could co-ordinate with the client to ensure the equipment would operate as it should during commissioning. The Vectaire Prem3 unit is a common feature in all Premier Inns across the UK and Ireland. It works by integrating with the fabric of the building, eliminating
the need for large ductwork running through the building. This removes the requirement for a fire damper strategy in the hotel, especially if it is used as a standard ventilation supply and return system in each room. KITCHEN EXHAUST In order to meet the requirements of the kitchen exhaust system, it was necessary to use a fan that could withstand high temperatures while keeping the motor separate from the airflow. The optimal choice for this situation was the Helios Gigabox T120 – compact in size but engineered to provide high volume against a high resistance. Joe Nolan, Regional Director, Exi-tite Ireland, expressed his satisfaction with the project, stating that Exi-tite approached it with their usual diligence, “Our in-house project managers were actively involved in the early planning and scheduling, ensuring timely availability of the units.”
