Role purpose The Campus Project Manager is responsible for the planning, scoping, co-ordination and execution of campus projects of varying value. The campus projects consist of small to medium-sized refurbishment, relocation/space optimisation and installation projects located within the campus buildings/boundaries. The role involves client liaison, developing design briefs, space planning (including the use of AutoCAD), scoping of projects, the tender or pricing of works using KCL labour or external contractors, management of the approval process and it’s various check-points, project delivery/completions, handover and final accounts and cost allocations, as well all necessary CDM obligations. The role also includes the upkeep of existing records and the review and acceptance of new records onto the Colleges approved file storage system to ensure that all site records are up-to-date and accurate. Denmark Hill has a strong teaching presence but is primarily a medical research based campus so the role involves research based projects and the complexities thereof. Key Responsibilities Key Objectives • Scope, develop and deliver campus projects in support of the Head and Associate Director of Campus Operations; • Coordinate re-occupation of offices/areas following the new furniture delivery and any enabling works; • Interact with various internal and external contacts and take responsibility for the delivery of parts of projects within time, quality and budget constraints. Communication and Networking • Liaise with internal/external clients, internal College’s consultants (including IT, AV, Procurement, Finance, Fundraising, Marketing and others), suppliers, contractors and other E&F colleagues, as necessary, for the delivery of campus projects; • To work with the Campus Operations and the in-house maintenance team to assess and develop plans to enhance the student and staff experience, to meet the needs of the College in support of Vision 2029 and supporting strategies; • To work with the Campus Operations teams and the in-house maintenance team to utilise in-house resources for minor works, where there is a clear commercial benefit to the College; To liaise with the College’s Corporate Branding department and ensure compliance with the College’s Brand standards through projects. • To liaise with the E&F Communication team and the Service Desk team to ensure that effective stakeholder communications is developed and issued in timely manner. • Liaise with other team members in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve holistic building solutions to client brief on small and medium sized projects.
