ESRT prioritizes a safe and respectful workplace for our colleagues and invests in their health and well-being to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Our SVP of Human Resources Strategy and Operations and our SVP, Director of Energy and Sustainability, lead our initiatives and policies in this area and report to the board quarterly on human capital management, talent attraction and retention, benefits, colleague engagement, health and safety, and community outreach, among other topics. Our colleague engagement efforts are grounded in open, honest, two-way communication, holistic wellness, and interdepartmental collaboration. We gather corporate and union colleagues through annual engagement surveys and departmental focus groups, and we integrate this feedback into ESRT’s policies and practices. To foster collaboration and camaraderie, we organize a variety of events that bring together colleagues from different departments. Surveys Each year, we conduct an anonymous corporate and union colleague Engagement Survey through a third-party administrator. In addition, we administer an annual pulse survey to gather supplemental data and feedback. Our Human Resources team analyzes both internal and external survey data and facilitates collaborative meetings to transparently share results, generate ideas, and develop actionable plans for improvement. In 2025, we achieved a 100% participation rate among corporate colleagues and a 96% participation rate among union colleagues in our annual Colleague Engagement Survey. We earned an overall favorability rate of 85%, which outperformed the 73% average among other same-sized companies that participated in the survey.
