Community Engagement ESRT accelerates positive change in the communities where we work and live. We organize volunteer opportunities and offer paid volunteer time off for our colleagues to dedicate time to charitable organizations of their choice. We believe community engagement is an enriching component of our sustainability strategy.
Billion Oyster Project In 2025, ESRT colleagues volunteered with The Billion Oyster Project, whose mission is to engage one million people in the effort to restore one billion oysters to New York Harbor by 2035. Oyster reefs foster biodiversity, filter water with the removal of certain pollutants such as nitrogen, and provide natural storm barriers. 28 volunteers ~120 oyster cages prepared for delivery into the harbor
ESRT organizes and supports intentional volunteer events in partnership with organizations that align with our vision for impactful sustainability and environmental stewardship in New York City.
