W elcome to the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival. On the first Tuesday in November, people across Victoria, Australia and the world come together for the race that stops the nation. Across four great days, the Carnival brings the very best of racing, food, fashion and entertainment to Flemington, and gives us yet another chance to show our great state off to the world. This year will be a historic one, with Flemington hosting the Cox Plate meeting for the first time, featuring the Moonee Valley Gold Cup, a race that lands the winner a golden ticket into the Melbourne Cup. Victoria’s racing industry supports thousands of jobs, local businesses and communities right across our state. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible, from the trainers and jockeys to the ground staff, members, sponsors and hospitality workers. The Melbourne Cup is one of the biggest events on our state’s calendar and a proud Victorian tradition. If you’re visiting Victoria for the Carnival, I hope you take the time to get out and experience everything our state has to offer. Whether you’re at Flemington or watching on the TV at home, enjoy this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.
