From a Pony Club kid in the Adelaide Hills to the winner’s circle at Flemington, Jamie Melham’s rise in racing has been a series of milestones: the Adelaide Jockeys’ Premiership at 19, the first jockey to ride 100 winners in a single Melbourne Metropolitan season, and the first female rider anywhere in the world to win a Group 1 race for Godolphin, just to name a few. Then came 2025: Riding Half Yours, Melham became the first female jockey to complete the historic Caulfield- Melbourne Cup double, further cementing her place among the greats of Australian racing.
