back to his first solo tour in 2001, and he’s returned again and again since – to arenas, outdoor stages, and A Day on the Green shows across the country. “Australia and New Zealand have always had a very special place in my heart,” he said. “Ever since my first solo tour, you have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home.” It’s a warmth he feels every time he’s here. “In Australia, I get to be around what feels like are like-minded and like-spirited people. And I can just drop my shoulders. It feels like a coming home.” Music is no longer his only creative outlet, either – he draws and paints regularly, and has had his work exhibited at the Moco Museum in London. Now he’s back in Australia in November with his BRITPOP World Tour – and he’ll be bringing all that rock-star energy to Flemington on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.
