What is Direct Ring Light?
Ring shaped lighting. Installed slightly away from the workpiece and close to the camera. Efficiently brightens the center of the field of view by the directly irradi- ating light from the LED element onto the workpiece. Works well with workpieces with low reflectance, while with highly reflective workpieces, the optional polarizer plate and polarization filter for lens can be inserted to reduce the reflection of the light emitting area for imaging.

What is Low-Angle Ring Light?
Ring-shaped lighting. Installed close to the workpiece. By illuminating light from all circumferential directions at a low angle, unevenness of an object can be made to stand out. It can also highlight dust and other foreign objects on a shiny workpiece.

About Co-Axial Lighting Selection (Effective Field of View and Illumination Stereoscopic Angle) When a workpiece with high reflectance is inspected with co-axial lighting, the area that appears bright is called the effective field of view. The effective field of view of co-axial lighting is related to the size of the light emitting area of the lighting, the distance from the camera to the workpiece (WD) and the distance from the lighting to the workpiece (LWD). (e.g., long WD = narrower angle of view → larger effective field of view, long LWD → smaller effective field of view) Since the effective field of view varies with the size of the light emitting area and LWD, set the field of view with a generous margin, taking into account the decrease in brightness at the periphery. To obtain a large effective field of view, move the lighting closer to the workpiece to increase the effective field of view, but there is a disadvantage that it is difficult to obtain the contrast of unevenness. Relationship between lighting size, angle of view, and effective field of view
In order to image the entire field of view brightly, lighting with a light emitting area larger than the field of view is necessary. Furthermore, the use of a lens with a wide angle of view requires lighting of a larger light emitting area. Differences in images caused by moving the lighting away from the workpiece

What is Spot Light? Lighting with small light emitting areas. Often incorporated into co-axial type telecentric lenses to cap- ture the direct reflected light from the workpiece. Lighting can be pointed directly to the workpiece from any angle without being attached to the lens to emphasize shadows, or multiple simultaneous irradiations to obtain high lighting intensity.

What is Direct Flat Prizm Light? Similar to the VDF.
Because of the prism sheet design, light is strongly irradiated in the vertical direction. This design is suitable for projects with short exposure time. The high directivi- ty of the prism sheet reduces the light rotation on the sides of curved surfaces, making it easy to capture edges in high contrast. The larger light emitting area is compatible with lenses with longer focal lengths.

What is Collimated Light? Round luminescent surface lighting.
The point light source and lens provide very high directivity and can be used as a backlight when used with a telecentric lens. When used as a backlight in conjunction with a telecentric lens, it can be installed near curved workpieces to minimize edge reflection. It is also suitable for capturing unevenness and fine scratches on trans- parent objects.
