RAPA producing new comedy

Kennedy had nothing but praise for the cast and crew, and describes the script as a little- known gem. Kennedy teaches at Russell High School and the play, written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, has several teen actors, so the Thursday night (27 th ) performance will be geared towards teens, with free pizza included with ev- ery $10 student ticket and local bands Événement du Conseil des Arts de PR Le Conseil des Arts Prescott Russell Arts Council (CAPRACP) a pris son envol avec une première activité, le 20 novembre, lors d’un 5 à 7, au Qua- lity Inn à Hawkesbury. Lors de l’évé- nement, le public a pu apprécier les œuvres des artistes membres et faire la rencontre de l’ensemble des repré- sentants du conseil, dans les volets artistique, culturel et patrimonial. Des bouchées ont aussi été servies et l’ambiance était agrémentée par la musique de l’ensemble Healing Harps and Restorative Drums. Pour le CAPRAC, c’était aussi l’occasion de dévoiler son logo.

RUSSELL | The Russell Association for the Performing Arts is putting the !nish- ing touches on their newest production, George Washington Slept Here!?, which runs November 26 to November 29. The late 1930s comedy has 19 cast mem- bers and 20+ crew and front-of-house vol- unteers, led by director Kevin Kennedy, pro-

The Wednesday night show (26 th ) is se- niors’ night, and many seniors will be com- ing from Russell Meadows to the show in the RHS auditorium, for which RAPA donat- ed the light and sound system in exchange for use of the exceptional facility. Friday and Saturday nights (no matinée) will be for general audiences, although
everyone is welcome on any night. Tickets are available through www.rapa.ca, Russell Pronto and Russell Foodland. RAPA’s next production will be a youth musical, “13”, directed by musician Tara Re- naud, which includes roles for youth aged 10 to 17. An information session will be held at 7:30 p.m. on December 2 at the Russell Music Academy, and auditions will be held Dec 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. at RHS.
